Valores vivenciais e a questão da sobrevivência: um olhar sobre a experiência humana em cenários de guerra.

Abstract

Since antiquity, the contemplation of nature has been a common and widely practiced activity in society, contributing to historical advancements that have significant repercussions in the present day. In this context, it is understood that observing natural phenomena such as the sun, the moon, and the stars not only contributes to the construction of knowledge and understanding them in their various aspects but also allows a connection between humans and nature, manifesting different meanings from the perspectives and representations provided by each observer. Therefore, this study aimed to address this question through the theory and accounts of experiences of individuals who lived through the atrocities of the Second World War period. In this context, the study was grounded in the Logotherapy and Existential Analysis approach by Viktor Emil Frankl, focusing on the structure of a qualitative, descriptive research with the purpose of conducting an investigative process through biographies about survival in wartime scenarios and understanding the importance of experiential values in finding meaning in suffering. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that contemplative action, belonging to the category of Logotherapy values, goes far beyond common sense, mere observation, or specific studies, as it holds meanings based on the representations made by each individual in their unique situations.
