Ilumiara Acauã: parque museográfico para a fazenda histórica em Aparecida-PB.

Abstract

This thesis proposes the creation of a museographic park at Fazenda Acauã, located in Aparecida, Paraíba (Brazil), aiming to integrate and reinterpret its listed architectural ensemble. Situated in the rural hinterlands of the state, the site represents a cultural heritage often overlooked in favor of coastal references. The project is grounded in the historical, spatial, and symbolic analysis of the site, considering it a territory of collective memory. The methodology involved technical visits, documentary and bibliographic analysis, as well as the development of design guidelines. The intervention focuses on the adaptive reuse of the former sugar mill as a cultural center, functioning as a connecting element between the preserved buildings and the decaying fragments of the estate. Based on authors such as Halbwachs, Lynch, and Tuan, the work approaches the landscape as a palimpsest of memory. Thus, the proposal goes beyond material preservation, seeking to promote local cultural belonging in dialogue with the ideas of Ariano Suassuna and the Armorial Movement.
