Proposta para Hostel no Centro Histórico de Campina Grande - PB: Requalificação dos edifícios do Pavilhão Epitácio e do Sobrado Cristiano Lauritzen.

Abstract

The developed work aims to elaborate an architectural requalification project, at a preliminary study level, for historical buildings in the Historic Center of Campina Grande - PB, with the purpose of housing a hostel. The objects of study comprise the Pavilhão Epitácio, dating from 1923, located on Monsenhor Sales Street, and the old Cristiano Lauritzen mansion, dating from 1877, on Maciel Pinheiro Street, buildings that have a great cultural and symbolic significance for the city. The work will be carried out following the stages of data collection, diagnosis, and development of the preliminary study and aims to propose solutions for the requalification and preservation of the buildings, adapting them to house a contemporary use that revitalizes the space. Additionally, it seeks to valorize them by proposing the reconstitution of part of the space of the old Epitácio Pessoa square, a place that was formerly used as a meeting point and was a stage for popular demonstrations but disappeared with the structural reforms and beautification that took place in the first half of the 20th century.
