Assistência de enfermagem no pré-natal durante a pandemia da COVID- 19.

Abstract

Prenatal care is intended to offer not only the necessary attention to assure the health of the fetus and the mother, but also to cater to the psychological, emotional, physical, and social needs of the pregnant woman and the family nucleus. From that perspective, the monitoring process is crucial in reducing the mortality rates and therefore, ensuring the quality of life during the gestation period and puerperium. The objective of this study is to identify the nursery support in a county in the outback of Ceará, Brazil. It is an exploratory and descriptive field study with both a quantitative and qualitative approach and was employed in the county of Mauriti-CE. Semi-structural interviews were done with the nurses that work in the Health of The Family Strategy (a multi-professional team specialized in primary health care). Subsequently, the interviews were transcribed and the data was analyzed with the methodological technique Content Analysis by Laurence Bardin, generating four central categories. All the phases of the research follow rigorously the resolutions 466/2021 of the National Counselor of Health of Brazil. Regarding the results found, the nurses knew how to manage and develop techniques for the reception of pregnant women during the pandemic, primarily with the parturient women that did not want to receive care. This requires a lot of knowledge about the importance of appointments for prenatal care for an adequate and safe gestation period. Although there were difficulties to offer prenatal care, due to the material being insufficient or the rejection of the community, the professionals were always willing to give quality care and reception. Therefore, the results show a clear necessity for research in the area as well as investing in educational actions for the professionals. Besides that, encouraging and giving information about prenatal care for women is also important to the quality of life of the whole society.
