O ensino da literatura em libras para os alunos surdos em uma escola pública bilíngue de Campina Grande

Abstract

This work seeks to reflect on how the teaching of Literature in LIBRAS has been for students at a bilingual school for the deaf in Campina Grande. This main objective unfolds into three specific objectives: 1) Identify the space for teaching the Literature in LIBRAS discipline in the Political Pedagogical Project (PPP) of the chosen school; 2) Investigate, in the school's literary collection, the literary productions in LIBRAS available for students' access; 3) Analyze the methodological strategies used in teaching Literature at the researched institution. As theoretical references, we used the studies of Strobel (2008), Cândido (2004 and 2011), Sutton-Spencer (2021), Alencar (2019), which dialogue with the present research study on the importance of literature teaching in the teaching-learning process considering the benefits it brings to students. The applied methodology was qualitative in nature, of the documentary and field type. Considering the importance of teaching Literature in LIBRAS for elementary school students at the investigated bilingual school, as a didactic resource that facilitates knowledge and consequently the cognitive development of children, we understand that this wonderful experience of involvement with literature will open opportunities for them to see their knowledge expanded and to feel that there is a better world for each of us.
