dc.description.resumoA presente pesquisa tem como objetivo central analisar a evolução do conceito de dignidade, inicialmente centrado no ser humano, e sua expansão para incluir os animais como seres sencientes merecedores de respeito e proteção. A pesquisa analisou o conceito de dignidade animal, os avanços legais, como a Constituição Federal de 1988 e a Lei de Crimes Ambientais, e os desafios éticos e jurídicos para a proteção dos animais no Brasil. Evidenciou-se que, apesar dos progressos, ainda há obstáculos culturais e legais que dificultam o pleno reconhecimento da dignidade animal no ordenamento jurídico. Foram propostas orientações práticas para promover o respeito, à proteção e a valorização dos animais, contribuindo para o fortalecimento de seus direitos. Concluiu-se que, embora haja avanços normativos, a efetivação da dignidade animal depende de mudanças culturais e reformas legais mais profundas, visando uma proteção mais justa e abrangente.pt_BR

dc.description.abstractThe present research aims to understand the evolution of animal rights in Brazil, focusing on the recognition of the dignity of non-human beings, while analyzing the legal and social implications of this process. The study examined the concept of animal dignity, legal advancements such as the 1988 Constitution and the Environmental Crimes Law, and the ethical and legal challenges related to animal protection in Brazil. It was evidenced that, despite progress, there are still cultural and legal obstacles hindering the full recognition of animal dignity within the legal framework. Practical guidelines were proposed to promote respect, protection, and appreciation for animals, contributing to the strengthening of their rights. It was concluded that, although there are normative advancements, the realization of animal dignity depends on deeper cultural changes and legal reforms, aiming for more just and comprehensive protection.pt_BR
