Abstract

"Beyond the São João: Tourist Potentials in the District of Galante - Campina Grande/PB" explores the tourist potential of the Galante district in Paraíba, analyzing it from a geographical perspective. The work delves into the relationship between tourism and geography, using concepts such as landscape and place to understand the local space and identity. The study provides a historical and geographical context of Galante, highlighting the importance of the railroad in its formation and the challenges related to local infrastructure. The monograph also identifies and describes existing tourist attractions, such as the São João Festival, Casa do Cumpade, and Fazenda Santana, while also pointing out spaces with development potential, like the railway station, the Public Market and the José Rodrigues Dam. The overall objective is to analyze Galante's tourism potential from a geographic perspective, developing a diagnostic that will guide future planning and promotion efforts for local tourism. The research aims to demonstrate that the district has attractions beyond the June festival, consolidating its position as a relevant tourist destination.
