Abstract: This research aims to conduct a comparative analysis between Clarice Lispector's short story "Via Crucis" and the account of the Via Dolorosa, the journey Christ took to Golgotha for his crucifixion, as described in the Gospel of Matthew. The study seeks to identify similarities, reinterpretations, and possible symbolic shifts between the literary and biblical texts. The study is based on the understanding that literature frequently engages with religious traditions, appropriating symbolic and narrative elements to produce new interpretations. Methodologically, this work is a qualitative, descriptive study developed through documentary and bibliographical analysis. The main authors who underpin this research are Nunes (1995), Orlandi (2001), and Cortázar (1974). The investigation procedures consisted of an analytical reading of the selected works, the identification of narrative and symbolic elements present in both texts, and a comparison between the observed thematic and discursive structures. The analysis revealed that Clarice Lispector establishes an intertextual dialogue with the Christian tradition, revisiting aspects related to suffering, sacrifice, and the human experience in the face of existential limits. However, these elements are reinterpreted within the literary narrative, taking on a more existential and reflective character. Thus, the results indicate that the short story does not merely reproduce the biblical narrative, but reworks it literarily, highlighting literature's capacity to reinterpret biblical symbols and expand their meanings within the context of Brazilian literature.
